چکیده
Hyperaccumulator plants are new alternative sources for elements of interest e.g., nickel, rare-earth (REEs), as concentrations in their aerial parts higher than common low-grade ores. The fern Dicranopteris linearis naturally grows on former mine tailings Southern China and is classified a REE hyperaccumulator. efficient recovery REEs fundamental to ensure economic viability limit the environmental impact process. This study presents novel approach treatment biomass after incineration ash drastically improve “bio-ore” grade generate heat. Ash structure composition described, challenges discussed. A pre-processing step, aiming at rendering available extraction, was designed dissolve aluminum (Al) using concentrated sodium hydroxide (6 M) an average temperature (80 °C). operating parameters were investigated through experiment methodology design parametric studies build empirical model. Additional experiments revealed that formation insoluble aluminosilicate compounds limited removal aluminium. Rinsing REE-rich residue proved be effective increase concentration carefully designed. Subsequently, extracted under mildly acidic conditions nitric acid (25 °C, pH 4.8), producing valuable solution devoid aluminium containing 74% REEs.

Uptake of rare earth elements by Dryopteris erythrosora (autumn fern)
Mechanisms of uptake of rare earth elements (REEs) were investigated, particularly those by REE accumulator species (autumn fern). Rare earth elements are practically insoluble under natural conditions, suggesting some unknown mechanism in REE accumulator species. In the present investigation, two notable phenomena were observed. (I) Concerning the ionic-radius dependence of REE uptake by leave...
متن کاملOn the Extraction of Rare Earth Elements from Geothermal Brines
The availability of rare earth elements from primary resources has come into question in the last two decades. This has sparked various government and industry initiatives to examine potential rare earth element resources apart from virgin ore bodies. Geothermal fluids are potentially significant sources of valuable minerals and metals, while co-recovery with geothermal energy production would ...
متن کاملUnusual Flavanones from a Rare American Fern
Notholaena fendleri, Polypodiaceae, Farinose Exudate, Novel Flavanone Notholaena fendleri is a rare representative of the genus, growing mainly in Colorado/USA. The white farinose exudate on the lower surface of its pinnules is composed partly of waxy material and partly of flavonoid aglycones. The flavonoid moiety consists mainly of methyl derivatives of the flavanones naringenin and eriodicty...

This study aims to investigate and optimize the effects of the main parameters including the particle size, gravity and magnetic separation combination, high gradient magnetic separation, magnetic field intensity, shaking table slope, washing water flow, and electrostatic separation upon the rare earth element (REE) recoveries from iron mine waste. The electron microprobe showed that high amoun...
متن کاملBioleaching of rare earth elements from monazite sand.
Three fungal strains were found to be capable of bioleaching rare earth elements from monazite, a rare earth phosphate mineral, utilizing the monazite as a phosphate source and releasing rare earth cations into solution. These organisms include one known phosphate solubilizing fungus, Aspergillus niger ATCC 1015, as well as two newly isolated fungi: an Aspergillus terreus strain ML3-1 and a Pae...
